On October 26th, the Salazar family lost David, a son, a brother, a friend, and a light that brightened every room he walked into. He was only 18, but in those 18 years, he touched countless hearts, something that’s been clear in the outpouring of love and support surrounding his family.

David was one of four brothers, and together they shared a bond that was truly unbreakable. They were more than brothers, they were best friends. Whether it was teasing each other, sharing dreams, or simply being together, their love ran deep and pure. His brothers adored him, and David loved them just as much. That love will never fade, it will live on within each of them as they carry his memory forward.

He was the kind of person who could make anyone laugh, who cared without needing to be asked, and who always looked out for the people he loved. He was also a wonderful son, the kind that made his mom proud every single day. He was soon to become an uncle, and we all knew he would have been the most loving one there ever was.

As the Salazar family faces this unimaginable heartbreak, we want to give David the beautiful farewell he deserves. One that honors his spirit, his kindness, and the love he gave so freely. We are raising funds to help his mom, Anne, and his brothers plan his service without the added burden of financial strain.

Anne is a wonderful person who has always gone above and beyond to help anyone around her — whether she knows them or not. She’s the kind of person who gives from the heart, never expecting anything in return. I’m creating this fundraiser to give back to her in the same way she’s always given to others, so she can focus on grieving her baby boy without added worry.

We know David is still with us, watching over his family, guiding his brothers, and wrapping his mom in the same love he always gave in life.

El 26 de octubre, la familia Salazar perdió a David, un hijo, un hermano, un amigo y una luz que iluminaba cada lugar al que llegaba. Tenía solo 18 años, pero en esos 18 años tocó incontables corazones, algo que ha quedado claro con las muestras de amor y apoyo hacia su familia. 

David era uno de cuatro hermanos y juntos compartían un lazo verdaderamente inquebrantable. Eran más que hermanos, eran mejores amigos. Ya fuera bromeando entre ellos, compartiendo sueños o simplemente pasando tiempo juntos, su amor era profundo y puro. Sus hermanos lo adoraban y David los amaba con la misma intensidad. Ese amor nunca se apagará, vivirá en cada uno de ellos mientras mantengan viva su memoria. Era el tipo de persona que podía hacer reír a cualquiera, que se preocupaba sin que se lo pidieran y que siempre cuidaba de los que amaba. También fue un hijo maravilloso, de esos que llenan de orgullo a su mamá todos los días. Pronto se convertiría en tío y todos sabíamos que habría sido el más cariñoso de todos. 

Mientras la familia Salazar enfrenta este dolor inimaginable, queremos darle a David la despedida hermosa que merece. Una que honre su espíritu, su bondad y el amor que dio tan generosamente. 

Estamos recaudando fondos para ayudar a su mamá, Anne, y a sus hermanos a planear su servicio sin la carga adicional del estrés económico. Anne es una persona maravillosa que siempre ha estado dispuesta a ayudar a quien la necesite, la conozca o no. Es de esas personas que dan con el corazón, sin esperar nada a cambio. 

Estoy creando esta recaudación para poder retribuirle de la misma forma en que ella siempre ha dado a los demás, para que pueda concentrarse en despedir a su hijo sin preocuparse por nada más.  

Sabemos que David sigue con nosotros, cuidando a su familia, guiando a sus hermanos y envolviendo a su mamá con el mismo amor que les dio en vida.
