The Salas family, our neighbors and dear friends recently experienced a sudden and devastating house fire that has tragically left them displaced and with the unimaginable loss of nearly everything they owned.

In a matter of moments, their home, belongings, memories, and sense of normalcy were taken from them. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, but the road ahead will be incredibly difficult. Both parents are self-employed and, in addition to losing their home, they also lost the equipment and tools they rely on daily to support their family and earn a living.

Their daughter, Jia, a student at FN Brown, was thankfully able to save her beloved lizard and her favorite stuffed animal, small comforts during such a traumatic and heartbreaking experience.

As they begin the overwhelming process of rebuilding their lives, they will need the support of their community now more than ever. Donations will help provide immediate necessities such as clothing, temporary housing, food, and essential items, while also helping them replace work equipment and begin rebuilding what was lost.
