On Wednesday, November 21st, Walter Sadorge and his family were preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday in their home. Suddenly, Walter said he couldn't hear anything and grabbed his head in agony. With his family at his side, Walter lowered himself to the floor and began to convulse. The family was able to administer CPR and immediately called 911.
The ambulance arrived in a matter of minutes and rushed Walter to the ER. His family was stunned, trying to comprehend what had just happened. Replaying the events in their heads, they thought back to the previous week. Walter had been complaining of intermittent headaches and had visited his chiropractor on two occasions.
Hours and many tests later, the doctors informed them that Walter had suffered a series of small strokes. He had been stabilized in the ICU and now more tests were being administered. The disbelief mounted. Walter is 45 years old, active and healthy with no history of medical problems.
On Thanksgiving morning Walter was taken off the sedatives. At first he couldn't open his eyes and could barely turn his head. Over the next few days, Walter slowly regained some movement and consciousness. A difficult journey of rehabilitation & physical therapy lies ahead for Walter.
Walter works for himself and was in between health insurance coverage. The medical bills are mounting and will surely be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Walter's long road will require ongoing therapy and rehabilitation.
We're hoping to raise $50,000 to put towards his growing healthcare costs. Any amount you can give will be appreciated. If you can, please share Walter's story and keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
