Support the Sabo Family's Medical Challenges

Midwest Values include, but are not limited to: hard work, caring for the community, a sense of humbleness, close family ties, and doing what is right. When we think of these words, Ryan and Rachel Sabo are among the first few folks who come to our minds. Genuine, down to earth, and selfless, Ryan and Rachel are continuously showing up for others without fail.

Now it is time to show up for them.

As many of you know, they have had their share of hurdles to get through, mostly health-related. Upon welcoming their second beautiful baby girl, they found that Kendyll was born with a heart murmur and further testing revealed a handful of other complications that made her future very uncertain and ominous. It turned out that sweet Kendyll had two holes in her heart, she was born with a narrow pulmonary valve and had muscle bundles growing and blocking areas, fluid around her heart, good blood mixing with bad blood, mitral valve leak and so on. There are a lot of details, but without getting too into the weeds, this baby needed her heart fixed! At just 5 months old, Kendyll had open heart surgery performed to fix a handful of the issues. Going forward she will see cardiologists every 6 months and will more than likely have another surgery in the future to fix some of the remaining issues. No one should have to see their 5-month-old baby go into such a dangerous and vital surgery, but Rachel and Ryan remained collected and strong. Even so, one could imagine how this has all been very emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially stressful.

Just as their family had been getting back into the swing of things and planning for the future, another terrible, unplanned incident happened. Ryan broke the front and back of his C1 vertebrae and has ligament damage after diving into the swimming pool at his parent’s house. The C1 vertebrae is one of the most dangerous to fracture so he was rushed into emergency surgery to fix and stabilize with screws and a rod. While he is very lucky and not paralyzed, his recovery is going to be lengthy.

Still having medical bills from Kendyll’s surgery (plus consideration of future bills) and now piling on Ryan’s medical bills - this family needs as much support as they can get. All the money raised will go towards the family’s medical bills and to help them.

Thank you for your consideration and donations and support during this difficult time!
