Hello everyone. If you are new here to the Rosen family and story, welcome. My name is Niyah Rosen. I am an 18-year-old competitive surfer from New Smyrna Beach, FL, now living in Newport Beach, CA. Along with those things, I am most importantly a sister, granddaughter, student, friend, and daughter. Some of you know my dad, Michael Rosen, the surf dad on the beach every weekend or sitting in the stands at every basketball game for my brother Deklan. July 2023 our world flipped upside down when my dad was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Tumors on his pancreas and liver after spending 2 weeks at Hoag Hospital initially being admitted for what we thought was dehydration and unusual chest pains. The doctors informed us that this cancer was terminal and there was no options for chemo therapy, radiation, and surgically removing the tumors was not an option. Since then, he became patient #1 on a research chemo infusion trial at Hoag cancer center in hopes to beat his cancer and be able to provide research to help others in the future. My dad has always given me and Deklan everything. He would drop anything in the world for us. It's time we step up and try to do what we can to help him and take some weight off his shoulders with countless medical bills, groceries, and basic monthly living expenses. Because of his health, weekly doctors appointments, and treatment, he was recently laid off from work on May 30th, 2025. On Sunday, June 1st, 2025, my dad was admitted back into the emergency room where he spent the next 5 days. They found signs of sepsis infection, pneumonia, rhino virus, and significant weight loss. Running a 102-104 degree fever day and night. During his time in the hospital they found a nodule on his left lung. Further after his first CT scan we now know it is a 2cm nodule. We are now connected with the infectious disease doctors where they say they are unsure what this is. They have said it could be a side affect of the trial drug or pneumonia but based on its size it raises extreme concern that the cancer has metastasized. Our mom has been in California taking care of my dad as well as Deklan and I. We are seeking financial help so that we can continue to cover our month to month expenses, medical bills, and possibly a temporary rental or space for my mom in Newport Beach California so she can continue to care for us and help through all of this. We are beyond grateful for all the love and support from everyone, and we are so thankful for any donations made. We understand being in hard times, especially financially, so what we ask from each and every person that sees this is please keep my dad and our family in your prayers. We are going to be creating a Meal Train for the family as well if monetary contributions are not an option and you would still like to help. My dads next appointment for the new discovery on his lung is July 11th, 2025. We will continue to make updates on here or my social media account. Please respect my dads privacy giving he is a very private person and as much as I know so many of you would want to reach out and talk to him we ask you send your messages to myself or my mom at this time.
