Help Us Heal Together After a Life-Saving Kidney Transplant
Hi friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I’m reaching out with vulnerability and hope to ask for your support during one of the most challenging chapters of our lives.
After two years finding out I had an acute kidney failure, I am finally preparing to receive a life-saving kidney transplant. The most incredible part? My donor is my husband — my partner, best friend, and now, my hero. The world gave us this news the day after our wedding in March and although we had a few more tests to run we felt hopeful. Our love and honor for one another continued to grow stronger every day and it felt like a miracle and a gift from life itself when we finally received the news. We just began our life as a married couple and life knew there was so much more for us to live and experience and told my chronic illness, "Not today Satan!".
While this transplant brings hope for a healthier future, it also comes with serious challenges. Both of us will be undergoing major surgery and entering a critical recovery period at the same time. Recovery means we will both be out of work for several months, following strict medical protocols to ensure the transplant is successful and that we both heal properly.
This situation has put us in a difficult financial position. Medical expenses, follow-up treatments, medications, and the basic cost of living while we are both unable to work are quickly adding up. We’re doing everything we can to plan and prepare, but we can’t do it alone.
We are humbly asking for your help. Any amount you can give will go directly toward:
- Ongoing medical expenses not covered by insurance
- Anti-rejection medications and necessary follow-up care
- Rent, utilities, and groceries while we are unable to work
- Transportation to and from the transplant center for multiple follow-up visits
This transplant is giving us a second chance at life — and we want to come out of this healthy and whole. Your support means everything to us, not just financially but emotionally as we face this journey together.
Please share if you can’t donate, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us heal, together.
With love and gratitude,
The Rojas duo
