Jimmy Dunn was my rock, my protector, my world. He was the love of my life. He made me a promise that when we retired we would learn ballroom dancing. We both retired from the shipyard in 2019 and sadly in 2020 Jimmy got prostrate cancer. between 2020 and 2021 it went from stage 1 to stage 4. in 2022 his spine collapsed on his spinal cord and he became paralyzed. Covid hit and the world was quarantined. To pass the time I painted rocks and would leave them on the mail box in my community. This was therapeutic for me and in turn therapeutic for the neighborhood children as well. Everywhere I went I would bring one of my rocks and leave it at the local establishments. To obtain the perfect seal for my rocks, I got into resin work. Being a retired shipyard worker, I created my "F" bombs and started handing them out. My best part is seeing the huge smile on their faces when they realize what they held. From all that , I turned into the Rock Lady of Silverdale.

Sadly Jimmy passed end of March 2022 we never did get that dance as promised. In 2024 I was struck with a serious health issues and my business was not able to profit as planned. In trying to get onto the list for two total hip replacement surgeries, I went through 2 kidney surgeries, 2 blood clots, blood disorder. Finally January 2025 I got my first hip done, and in May 2025 my second hip done. The sad part was I was in so much pain I could not devote much time to my art business . Must make a profit to remain relevant. Seeing the therapeutic effects of painting, I started Art Rocks LLC 2023 to continue with healing trough art. I took his life insurance money and purchased the raw land on Provost 1010XXX Provost. This is to raise the funds needed to build the art studio where the entire community can come. and express themselves through different mediums of art. Art is no longer a staple in our school system but is critical for children in early stage development. Our country is evolving , home cooked food is no longer accepted. I have been painting rocks to hand out for Halloween and valentines day instead of candy. I make resin items for the grandkids to give to their teachers. Lets get this art studio built so we can rock the world with our art!!!
