Support the Rinker Family's Recovery and Temporary Housing
Donation protected
The Rinker/Meador family of four has been through so much, and you won’t know it because they hold strong when it gets tough. About a month ago their family was hit hard due to sudden medical conditions/hospital bills. Next comes Hurricane Helene for a visit and damaged their home prior to Hurricane Milton severely devastating their community. After Milton, their home was deemed “unlivable” requiring permanent displacement, and is now being reassessed for possible extensive repairs.
Many of us are coworkers, friends, or family to them. We want to assist with their temporary housing situation, and any potential transitions ahead if (after reevaluation) their home remains unlivable.
St. Pete beach was inundated with 80-90% of the homes flooded during Helene. Milton’s storm surge and wind damage devastated the small town, which is now in a lengthy rebuilding process. The sewage system will not return for approximately 10 days, if all issues are resolved quickly. Access to the island was permitted today, 10/11/2024.
Utilities are rebuilding after the lengthy damage. Power, sewers, and water are all down. From their mayor the water supply is shut off to the island, until the safety concerns are addressed. Power was compromised by Helene and then Milton’s wind with Helene’s debris on the streets took out power everywhere.
This family is strong in heart amidst the adversities. Please consider aiding them in this transition time until they can find somewhere to live!
