Support the Revert Community in Panama

Peace everyone.

I am starting a GoFundMe in hopes that you will help me support an incredible group of revert Muslims in Panama.

I fell in love with Musallah Al Haqq a few years ago while visiting my hometown of Panama City, Panama. I was looking for a Muslim community space that reflected my own understanding of Islam — one that married social justice and faith, and saw worship as more than just five daily prayers.

Musallah al Haqq is what an Islamic centre should be — a community space that feeds the poor educates the community, and serves as a gathering place for those trying to find their way.

Right now the Musala is housed in the basement of an apartment building in Panama City. On Fridays, and into the weekend, you can find groups of mostly converts, mostly Afro-Panamanian Muslims, who are drawn to the space because of its English and Spanish programming.

They want to expand, and I want to help them. They have put a downpayment on a property in Panama city where they plan to open a soup kitchen, day care and Islamic school and Islamic center.

I am looking to help them meet their fundraising goal and your donation would go a long way.
