Fast Facts:
- On April 15, clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) erupted in Khartoum. Since then, an estimated 9,000 people have been killed and thousands more have been injured.
- More than 1 million people have fled Sudan to neighboring countries, while more than 4.6 million have been displaced inside the country. These numbers have been rising as the violence continues.
While the depth and scope of this devastating war between the military forces is still to be understood, the counterrevolution continues to unfold.
Ever since the war broke out, the Resistance Committees have actively pursued two primary objectives; building an anti-war coalition and establishing emergency response rooms. While the whole world evacuated their nationals, leaving the Sudanese to their bloody fate, it was the people who coordinated the routes to safety, organized access to food and water, set up improvised health services.
For this, they are targeted with immense repression in the form of forced disappearances, torture and killings by the military forces.
Still, drawing upon their years of experience in resistance and decentralized self-organisation, the Committees continue to nurture the seeds of a different future. A testament to life and a rebellion against militarism, occupation, colonialism. A love letter to their people.

„The patient work carried out by the bodies of the resistance committees in villages, cities, rural areas, and the (agricultural) worker’s camps, on the revolutionary and humanitarian sides, confirms that the revolution is continuing and victorious, and that the revolutionary charter to establish people’s authority is the basis for the issue of radical change and stopping the war.“

„We, in Al Kalakla and South Khartoum Resistance Committees Coordination, … hold the military leadership and intelligence responsible for the safety of the detained revolutionaries. We affirm that we do not support any side over the other, and we reject this war in its entirety. Our revolution’s demands remain firm and unchanged, including the return of the military to the barracks and the dissolution of the Janjaweed militias.“
