Jaxon Reinhart was diagnosed with lymphoma in early November. If you know this boy, you already know all the amazing things we are going to say about him. He's the most active, competitive and easy-going kid there is. He's all boy! He's a great big brother and friend and he's the kind of teammate you wish you had 12 of.
This news came hard and fast leaving zero room for the family to react and adjust. They are simply surviving. Whitney is taking some leave from work and Scott will be adjusting his schedule as best he can. Knox, Hudd and Finn are living their best life being spoiled by friends and family, but they are missing the other half of their family. Needless to say, there are challenges. Our goal is to make the controllable challenges less worrisome, if at all possible.
The doctors and care team have every reason to believe this cancer is treatable and curable. Those treatments do come at a cost, even with insurance. Out-of-pocket is a known number, but there are still a lot of unknowns and things that cannot be foreseen (the list is endless but travel expenses, lapse or reduction in pay due to FMLA, additional costs for accommodating a home space fit for someone receiving chemo are just a few that come to mind). A child should never have to face cancer. If that does happen, a family should never have to have financial stressors on top of everything else. It just isn't fair.
We will adjust this goal as we gain additional information, but at this time, we know this is a long-term fight. If you feel led to bless this family with a financial donation, please do so here. There is a bank account set up at The People's Bank in Jackson County specifically for Jax Attacks Cancer, so ALL donations go directly to the family. Donations can be taken in person to a branch as well, but there were requests for online donations beyond the t-shirt sales (those proceeds will go into that account as well). Our town has already stepped up to the challenge and proven that the Reinharts will NOT fight this battle alone!
Thank you for your consideration! Please continue to wrap the entire family in your warm thoughts and prayers. It's working! Updates can be found on the Facebook page "Jax Attacks Cancer".
