Hey friends and family, I am Kayla Reed. Majoring in biology at Clark Atlanta University. On January 8, my mom Danielle Reed, my dad Karland Reed, my sister Payton, and I— lost our home and nearly all our possessions in the Eaton Fire in Altadena, California. We are safe. Sadly, we lost our 8 year old dog, Cali.

My grandparents moved to Altadena more than 50 years ago and built their lives here, creating a home filled with love, memories, and traditions that were passed down to us. Losing our home on Norwic Place so suddenly has been very heartbreaking.

Many have asked how they can help, and we're so grateful and beyond blessed for all the support. We are currently figuring out what we'll need. At this point we need everything. We are starting from scratch. Through this journey rebuilding our lives will take time and resources.
