Recently a Redmond resident and hotel owner was brutally assaulted by a patron based on her ethnic background. He has been charged with a hate crime but the consequences of his criminal act still remain, both physically and emotionally.
She has been in the hospital for some time and still has a long road ahead (her neck was broken among other things). Their hotel received damage as well. We would like to show this family that hate will NOT win in Central Oregon and support them with food, money for medical supplies and anything else they need.
Embrace Bend will coordinate the purchasing of items and delivery through its volunteers. We will ensure that we speak to the family first so that we are giving them exactly what would be most helpful.
