Support the Rebuild Journey After Cancer

Hey you guys, thanks for taking the time to read and consider this. As really none of you know because I never wanted to be a burden. On September 12th, 2024, I was rediagnosed with malignant neoplasm stage 4 breast cancer primary. As you are aware, we fought it back in 2022. From there began 3 weeks of extensive testing and surgeries to prepare for chemotherapy. During that time, we discovered that the metastatic cells did not travel anywhere else except the auxiliary lymph node set. Thank God. Because I was cognitive and paying attention, I palpated the lymph node myself. I had just left oncology a month previous for blood work, no detection. This type of breast cancer recurrence is not detected within blood work. I started chemotherapy in October 2024. My body was only able to take four cycles of AC, Red Devil Adriamycin, and Taxol. From here, chemotherapy lasted through December 2024 but had to halt due to peripheral neuropathy. By this time, I had missed so much work due to treatment that my hours off work are in the negative. Finally, my employer was able to identify the need to work from home, so as of 12/31/2024, I started my journey to work from home. On January 15th, 2025, I ended up fully covered in the right lower extremities DVTs (blood clots) because of the hormone Tamoxifen cancer endocrine that I was on. A lot of you don't know, but I carry a blood clotting protein called Factor V Leiden, something I got from my father, which he never really knew he even had. Proceed into January 2025, I ended up in surgery again, removing the auxiliary lymph nodes as well as an oophorectomy. The oophorectomy (ovary removal after hysterectomy) was necessary to continue my cancer endocrine treatment throughout the rest of my life. I have since recovered from both surgeries the same day with active DVTs. Off to radiation. 28 rounds of radiation have been performed, and today, April 23rd, the start of this is my rebuild journey. As most of you know, I've been battling with this for the past 3 years but was 23 months in remission previous to this rediagnosis. As every single one of you know, especially by now, because I've been battling this for the last almost 8 months with just my close family and never asked anybody for help. Well, now I am. I've wanted to tell you all so badly, but I refused to go into a depression over this one again. Because of having IDC breast cancer the first time, it humbled me; it allowed me to be stronger than ever before. If you've come this far, I want to thank you for taking this time to read my story, and by all means, you're never required to donate, but if you can, my family and I would sincerely appreciate it as we've been struggling financially for a very long time. Thank you all! We are over 60K in medical debts. Thank you for your kind words and support.
