On the morning of 26 August 2026, a sudden surge in the Bhotekoshi river, originating upstream from the Tibet side, caused a devastating flash flood through the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river corridor in Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, Nepal. The flood struck without warning, tearing through settlements including Syabrubesi, Timure, Betrawati, Mailung, and several other riverside communities along the Kathmandu–Kerung trekking and trade corridor.
The scale of destruction is still emerging, with dozens confirmed dead and hundreds more reported missing, including local residents, security personnel, and foreign nationals. Homes, bridges, markets, and hydropower infrastructure have been destroyed, and entire communities have been displaced overnight. Search, rescue, and relief operations are ongoing.
As an immediate response, Sherpa Hospitality Group, together with our team members, came together to raise NPR 450,000 ( USD 3000) which has already been contributed towards relief efforts on the ground.
To build on this collective effort, we are launching this fundraiser through the Pasang Lhamu Foundation, in collaboration with Sherpa Hospitality Group. All funds raised through this campaign will be contributed to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund (PM Relief Fund) to support relief and recovery efforts for communities affected by the disaster.
Your donation, in any amount, can help provide essential support to families affected by the disaster. Every contribution will support the broader relief and recovery efforts for the people of Rasuwa and Nuwakot through the PM Relief Fund.
Your kindness and support are deeply appreciated as we stand together with these communities through this difficult time
