Support the Rank Family's Recovery from Hurricane

Hello everyone!

My name is Mariah. My best friend’s The Rank Family (Meredith, Skylur, and their daughter Katherine) have recently lost majority of their worldly possessions to the extreme flooding in Richmond Hill, Georgia due to Hurricane Debby. They have done as much as they can without having to ask for help. So I am doing this GoFundMe on their behalf to help them get back on their feet.

Part of the lost items were both Meredith and Skylur’s cars. Now yes they do have insurance but we all know this is going to take a SIGNIFICANT amount of time to complete and both of them are needing to return to work without haven’t to rely on rideshare options or borrowing modes of transportation.

Yes, they also did have renters insurance, and like most people in their area the home we all shared at one point was NOT deemed a “flood zone.” They are still unsure how much and what will need to be replaced at this time. Again Insurance, FEMA, and GEMA take a significant amount of time that they unfortunately do not have.

Other than having to canoe their way back to rescue their pets that couldn’t be evacuated the first day they have not been home since 08/10/2024 due to the flooding conditions in their Rushing Street Neighborhood of Richmond Hill (one of the hardest hit areas)

At this time (08/16/2024) we are unsure when or if they are able to return home to collect ANY undamaged items. The flood waters at Rushing Street are still impassable by even lifted vehicles. All transportation in and out of the neighborhood is by boat or some type of water craft.

At this time I am asking for donations to help with down payments to get them both transportation to/from work and to get Katherine to school. The car market is terrible right now! So any help we can get them will help with the purchase of safe and affordable vehicles.
