Today, it is with deep sadness that I share the passing of Joe Ramos—a cherished friend, coworker, and Local 130 Brother. Joe was a devoted family man who worked tirelessly to provide for his loved ones and ensure they had everything they needed. Throughout his career, he did exactly that. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Joe has sadly left us, but his legacy of strength, dedication, and love lives on through his family.
Joe is survived by his wife, Kori Ramos, his loving partner of over 26 years and his greatest supporter, who stood by his side through every challenge. Kori is an eighth-grade special education teacher at Liberty Junior High and a devoted wife and mother. They raised three wonderful children, of whom Joe was immensely proud: Makenzie, 20, currently in her junior year at the University of Illinois; Joey, 18, a freshman at Miami University in Ohio; and Josh, 16, a student at Providence Catholic High School. Joe was incredibly proud of his children and deeply excited for the futures ahead of them. He was a man who always showed up, never gave up, and faced every challenge head-on. Joe was someone you could trust, depend on, and count on to get the job done. Most importantly, he was a man you were proud, grateful, and lucky to have known and worked alongside.
As you can imagine, his passing has created a significant hardship for his family. Funds raised will go toward funeral expenses and supporting Joe’s children’s current and future education needs. Any support for Joe’s family would be deeply appreciated during this difficult time. Your generosity will help ease their burden and honor Joe’s legacy. Please keep the Ramos family in your thoughts and prayers, and share this fundraiser with anyone who may have known Joe. Thank you for your kindness and support.
