I am Falisha (Val and Bob's daughter-in-law) and I am writing this, unable to wrap my mind around the devastation in the wake of Hurricane Helene. My mother and father-in-law, Valerie and Bob Raiche, lost their home as the eye of the Category 4 hurricane came directly through their beautiful town of Augusta, Georgia. Clutching onto their two dogs, they took shelter in the hall bathroom as they heard the destruction of their house crash around them.

A total of seven trees fell directly onto their house, making it uninhabitable. We are so grateful when they were able to communicate they were safe.

They are currently in a temporary place but need help with getting into a long-term situation as they begin the road of dealing with insurance adjusters and contractors for a total demolition and rebuild.

They need help with replacing essentials for them and their dogs until insurance kicks in, which may be a while due to the massive number of people affected by this disaster.
