Honoring the Legacy of Rafael

Rafael was a humble, kind, and extraordinary soul who dedicated his life to helping others. As the son of first-generation immigrant parents, he grew up with a deep appreciation for hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance. He carried his roots with immense pride and used his success not for himself, but to lift others up.

From a young age, Rafael discovered a passion for technology. What began as curiosity turned into a lifelong purpose — teaching, mentoring, and guiding others to find their path in tech. He volunteered at conferences, mentored high school students, and shared his knowledge with anyone eager to learn. His legacy was built on generosity, compassion, and the belief that knowledge is meant to be shared.

To honor Rafael’s incredible impact, we are creating the Rafael Memorial Scholarship Fund; an annual scholarship awarded to a student at CSUN who shares his same drive, background, and passion for technology and community. This fund will ensure that Rafael’s legacy continues to live on each year, inspiring future generations just as he inspired so many in his lifetime.
