Support the 2024 PSU MSW Student Led Graduation!

Update: We have an important update regarding our fundraising efforts for the Portland State University Master of Social Work 2024 graduates' fully student-led graduation ceremony! Recently, we received a request for a Russian interpreter to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all attendees. In response, we're diligently working to accommodate this request by arranging for a second simultaneous interpreter. To make this possible, we've decided to increase our funding goals to include the necessary resources for providing this accommodation.

Your generous donations have already made a significant impact, and we're incredibly grateful for your continued support. Together, we aim to recreate the uniqueness and magic of past student-led ceremonies to joyfully celebrate graduates' hard work, dedication, and their families!

Help Portland State University Master of Social Work 2024 graduates fund their fully student-led graduation ceremony! Our fundraising goal is $2,000 for the venue, chair rentals, speaker system, and other necessary materials. We encourage donations from non-students who have financial means to support graduates and their awesome efforts. We hope to re-create the uniqueness and magic of past student-led ceremonies to joyfully celebrate graduates' hard work, dedication, and their families!

How did this come to be? PSU MSW graduate students organized smaller and more intimate student-led graduation ceremonies when PSU announced they were no longer holding individual graduation ceremonies at the Portland Campus in 2015 due to a five-year building renovation of the Stott Center where the individual ceremony was previously held. With the pandemic, PSU never returned to holding an official individual commencement ceremony for the School of Social Work.

This ceremony is fully student-planned, organized, and led by current graduate students. We greatly appreciate your support and look forward to hosting such a special event.

If any donation funds are unused or leftover, those funds will be gifted to next year's student-led graduation ceremony, as past graduating classes have done.
