On Saturday May 1st, while on school break in South Carolina, the Pickett family experienced the unimaginable. Their 6 year old son Charlie, was taking a nap while recovering from the stomach bug, when he went into cardiac arrest and became unresponsive. Robert and Adaris frantically performed CPR while awaiting for the EMT's, but in spite of their best efforts, little Charlie did not make it.
Robert and Adaris Pickett with their 3 children - Bobby, 8, Charlie, 6, and Grace, 3 - recently moved to Jaffrey, NH. Being very active in their faith and walking out their Christ-like love for others, they quickly plugged themselves into this great community of ours.
Robert & Adaris, like most parents, have poured themselves into their children, bringing Charlie to various therapies throughout the week, as well as guitar lessons and jiujitsu. Charlie was in Kindergarten at Heritage Christian School, and the family belongs to Outreach Church in Rindge.
Charlie was the definition of a happy kid. He had a 1,000 watt smile on at all times, was constantly wanting to be part of the fun, and was always kind to everyone he met. He touched so many lives here, adult and child alike, and we are all better because of him.
The Pickett's loss and pain is unfathomable. There is nothing that can bring their son back, but the opportunity to lessen their financial strain as they plan transportation and a funeral to lay their beloved little boy to rest would bring some relief that cannot be expressed.
Please remember them in your prayers, as they lean on our good and Heavenly Father. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort which we ourselves are comforted by God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
