Sarah Colleen (Peura) Peurakoski, 41, was the fifth daughter to Richard and Colleen Peura of Marquette, MI. Sarah leaves behind her wife, Jess Peurakoski, and their two young children Sawyer Brooks Peurakoski (6) and Edwin Jay Peurakoski (4). On November 15th, 2021, Sarah left behind all of those she loved and the family suffered unimaginable heartbreak and loss. At this time, friends of the Peurakoski Family are coordinating support for Jess, Sawyer, and Edwin through this time of grief.

The Peurakoski family resides in Marquette, MI. Jess has the loving support of family and friends in the UP and beyond. Sarah was a fiercely protective and loyal person to those she loved and the causes she supported. Sarah dedicated her career to enhance and improve services for people living with a disability throughout the Upper Peninsula for many years via her employment at the Superior Alliance for Independent Living (SAIL) in Marquette, MI where she served as the Executive Director. She had a compassion for all living things, great and small, and genuinely wanted this to be a better world. Sarah loved spending time with her family and adored the awesome adventure of life as a mother of two with Jess. Sarah touched many lives through dance, sports, and her commitment to serving people of the community. Sarah will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
