On August 26, devastating flash floods tore through communities along Nepal’s border with Tibet, sweeping away homes, roads and bridges and leaving families facing unimaginable loss.

The scale of the disaster is still unfolding. Many lives have already been lost, hundreds of people have been reported missing and rescue teams are continuing to search affected areas as communities begin to understand just how much has been taken from them.

We are raising money for **Direct Relief**, a humanitarian organization that has supported health care in Nepal for more than 15 years and is already mobilizing medical support in response to this disaster.

Direct Relief is currently coordinating with Nepal’s Ministry of Health and trusted organizations already working inside the country, including **Mountain Heart Nepal**, a Nepali nonprofit that provides medical care and outreach to people living in some of the country’s hardest to reach communities.

Direct Relief has supported Mountain Heart Nepal in previous emergencies with grant funding, medicines and medical equipment, helping its teams operate mobile clinics and bring doctors and essential care into remote areas where reaching a hospital can be incredibly difficult.

Following these floods, Direct Relief is making its medical inventory available to health officials and local partners as needs become clear. That support can help provide the medicines, wound care supplies, antibiotics and other resources needed by medical teams treating people affected by the disaster.

Every donation made through this fundraiser will go directly to **Direct Relief** to support its humanitarian work and emergency response.
