We are the Payton family and on 2-13-25 our property was submerged by a flash flood. I created this video using our surveillance footage and splicing screenshots together to show how fast the water rose and to try and show people the amount of damage water can do in a very short amount of time. Once we realized how fast the water was rising it was too late and we ended up having to evacuate the property by kayak. In the footage you can see me carrying our children to another building that is on higher ground where I then load them and my wife in a kayak in separate trips and take them to higher ground. Thankfully everyone made it out safely with not as much as a scratch, but we have created a gofundme fundraiser to assist us in building on higher ground to avoid anything like this happening again in the future!!!
