Support The Parsons' Family in Their Time of Need

Hi, my name is MiKayla Vires, I am a friend of Matt Parsons and I have created this GoFundMe with hopes of helping Matt and his family get back on their feet. He would never reach out for help like this, so that is why I am sending this. I have gotten permission from him to do so! :)
I met Matt working at Amazon in Lexington, Kentucky in 2022. I noticed him because he was there every single day running around like a hen on a hot rock. He was always cutting up with people, hollering, laughing, and making people laugh. My first conversation with Matt: One day while working at my station, I think it was my 2nd week there. He comes up to me and gives me a little piece of paper and introduces himself.
Before I looked at the paper, he asked me if I watched YouTube. I replied Yes, of course. He replied, " Well if you don't care, could you please subscribe to my son Tink's YouTube channel? We are trying to get him to 1,000 subscribers. I wrote his account name down on that paper I gave you. (TheRealParkerShow).” I said Absolutely and went on to ask him how old his son was etc. That is when I learned, that his son Tink had passed away a year prior from meningitis at 13 years of age. (February 10, 2008, to March 6th, 2021) Parker Thomas Lee Parsons was his name, but they called him Tink. It immediately broke my heart, and I wanted to know more about Matt and his life story and Tink. So, over the months I began to talk and try to get to know him. Matt has been through so much throughout his life and he and his family are beyond deserving of living comfortably. Dealing with the unexpected loss of his son, and many other hardships throughout his life, Matt and his family have stuck together and overcame rock bottom numerous times. Matt is married to Brittany Lucy Parsons, and they have 3 children. 2 younger boys and their daughter is a freshman in high school. Matt has always been the one to provide for his family the best he can. Working up to 7 days a week, for years. Matt has been a recovering addict and sober for 10+ years, which is a beyond HUGE accomplishment and shows his strength and drive to want to be better every day for himself and his family.
Unfortunately, he had lost his job. I found out around a month ago that Matt and his family have lost their home due to not being able to afford their rent anymore and are currently living at the homeless shelter, The Salvation Army in Lexington, KY. They had gone through his 401k, etc. trying to keep the house they once rented. They had to leave their belongings behind… Leaving them with the clothes on their backs. I found all this out due to a status on Facebook he had made asking if anyone could help him out with necessities, so I messaged him asking what was going on, and that was when I found out he had been there for over 3 months and had not made it known. He did not want to ask anyone for help or feel like a burden. Somedays when they aren’t allowed to be in the shelter until 6 pm, they wait downtown until 6 pm to eat and stay at the shelter. I am beyond hurting over his situation. Matt is no joke the hardest working, funny, honest, trustworthy person I have ever met. He looked out for me so much at work and seriously every person there. He had everyone’s back. I want to have his back and help get him on his feet and find him a place. He says they hope to have things lined out by July 1st. I do believe his wife has been working and he is either working, or starting a job soon, but July 1st is a long time from now, especially when you are in his position and with 3 children. He is beaten down. He is staying as positive as he can, I am trying to be a sense of peace for him and help when I can, but it is hard to find the right words. But like he told me, he knows he must be strong for the kids and his wife. If you need my contact info, his contact info, or proof of anything, I can provide it all. I have rounded up some bags of clothes from people and I have a small TV for him and am picking up another from someone I know. I will keep things for them at my apartment until they can take it. This is a very short explanation of Matt and his family, but I am going to try and raise however much money I can for him and do whatever I can to get him out of this situation or at least give him a head start. Anything will be helpful to them. Anything!! It’s truly weighing on my heart to do this for this family. I know he would do the same for me!!
Everyone has a past, but it is how you learn and grow from it and they are living out their testimony every single day. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read and help!!! Words will not ever be able to explain how appreciative he and his family will be!!!
