Support the Parks Family: Unexpected Financial Hardships
Donation protected
After moving my family of 5 across the country for my job, we have recently encountered some unexpected financial hardships. Without any notice, my net pay for this recent pay period was reduced by 21%, and this reduction will have a ripple effect that will cause multiple bill payments (rent, insurance, loans, etc.) to go past due. The reason this change happened is because the cost of relocation expenses was added to my current pay period's taxable income, and our lovely federal and state tax rates did the rest. Unfortunately, I wasn't properly informed about this situation ahead of time, so I had no way to expect this change.
We were already drowning financially with a slow plan to catch up, and we do realize that most of the world is experiencing the same situation. I haven't even considered the additional cost of any groceries or gas, but we have fortunately discovered nice food pantries in our area. We also have to cover expenses for our son's inhaler that is desperately needed, and this paycheck was going to be used for that expense. His asthma always starts to flare up in summer and it's happening this year too (especially with the wildfire smoke). Any medical/dental treatment is completely out of reach right now as well. My credit cards are maxed out, and a loan withdrawal was taken out of my 401K just a few months ago, so I have NO additional resources at this time!
I know this is a first-world problem, and I can usually figure something out and make sacrifices, but I'm at a loss right now. Hopefully, I can get a part-time delivery job at night.
Please... anything can help out and will help us continue to keep our place and feed our kids.
