Support the Papadopoulos Family
Kostas Papadopoulos, a Border Patrol Agent from Maine, was sent to Texas to assist with the current migrant crisis along the southern border on the 1st of March. Kostas contracted the COVID-19 virus as a result of his work and has been hospitalized in the ICU for 6 weeks. His wife, Jaclyn, has twice made the trip from Maine to Texas to be with him. Kostas & Jaclyn have three young children at home. Kostas has been unable to see his children since February 28th.
Being hospitalized for so long and far from family/friends has placed a tremendous burden on this family. Their family, friends, co-workers of the U.S. Border Patrol, and church family agree that Kostas & Jackie would offer the utmost support to another family in need. Thus, we feel it is time to ask that our community offer support to them during this difficult time. As a family who is usually giving, "receiving" will not be something that is natural or comfortable to them, but I am confident that they will feel encouraged by the tremendous amount of love and support from supporters both near and far.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will help offset costs for an out-of-pocket medical evacuation flight from Texas to Boston, where Kostas will be further evaluated. The medical transfer from Texas will not be funded by private insurance or the federal government. Any donation to help Kostas get closer to home will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, in advance, for your support of this family who is dear to the hearts of many!
