Support The Pantry to rebuild
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Renee and my partner, Dan, owns a beautiful little cafe on the Macleay River at Kempsey
I started a gofundme today to try and support Dan in rebuilding his life following the floods this week that have decimated the Mid North Coast.
Not everyone knows this but Dan started the Pantry last year with an inheritance from his mother. He dedicated the cafe to her memory and the logo of a kookaburra is a sentimental tribute to his mother and their family beliefs.
This flood has knocked the wind out of him. It’s damaged the cafe, he’s lost tens of thousands of dollars in stock and equipment, and he has lost his car and place to live.
Additionally, Dan is also going under the knife this week to have his hip replaced, with six weeks of recovery and loss of business expected.
This on top of endless rainy days making business in an outdoor environment challenging to say the least.
That said, the Pantry has its supporters and the regulars are there no matter what. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many of them as I’ve gained my hospo badge playing front of house, waitress, dishy and admin lady for this little business over the last few months. I have honestly enjoyed being part of this business.
I hate seeing Dan’s spirit so crushed by things completely outside his control. He has worked so hard to build the cafe and employ and mentor so many young kids in their first jobs.
Please help to bring this little business back to life.
If you have any capacity to help please support Dan to rebuild; please donate what you can and come see us for scones and Nan’s jam when we are back up and running.
Thank you
