These are our dear friends, the Overmyer Family, a family that has followed hard after the Lord through many mountains and valleys in this life. Ryan (age 42) is a faithful follower of Christ and true family man, devoted husband to his amazing wife (Megan) and father to 4 incredible boys (Noah 19, Brayden 16, Drue 13, Gavin 11). In August of 2017, the Overmyers were given very difficult news when Ryan was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal Mucinous Adenocarcinoma with KRAS gene mutation at age 39. This rare form of cancer is very difficult to treat and required them to begin pursuing a long, uncertain journey of treatment options including multiple surgeries and traveling out of state.
Over the last couple of months, the journey has gotten even harder and the treatments have taken a toll on Ryan’s body. He has been in and out of the hospital several times just over the last month. And recently entered hospice care. Because of this, Ryan has been unable to work and provide for his family. The medical and living expenses have become a huge burden to them, and coming into the new year means new deductibles to reach and more out of pocket to them.....on top of the physical and emotional burdens that they are carrying every single day.
Despite all of this, they have not lost sight of the Lord’s goodness and mercy to them. They continue to be a living example of what it means to suffer well for the kingdom of God as they constantly point people to Him and His perfect care over their lives.
We are asking that you would consider joining us in wrapping our arms around this dear family and helping to lift the financial burden from them. Please pray that the Lord would be near to them, that He would continue to sustain Ryan’s life for as long as he pleases, and that ultimately God would receive much glory through the suffering of his saints. God is faithful, and we will all continue to look to Him and to look forward to the joy we will ultimately experience together in eternity.
