This is a call to The Olive Branch community!
How many of you have stayed at The OB and had a great time thanks to Mel and Gary? Since the beginning of March there have been dramatic changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before the 16th this place was full of life; however, since the lockdown Mel and Gary had to close their doors and, with regret, ask all guests to leave. They looked on as booking after booking was canceled. Not knowing when the hostel will open again brings stress and uncertainty to this place that we all so love.
Mel and Gary show nothing but positivity and strength in these times of need. At the moment they have help with renovation, painting and gardening. However, this isn’t enough as there are always bills to pay. We know that there is a big community that sees this place as a home away from home and would love to contribute towards this family business.
April 6th was Mel’s birthday and we gave her the surprise of this fundraising page as a gift to show we care about them as much as they care about us!
If you are someone who looks back fondly on the days you spent here, with the intention of returning, please consider donating. Every contribution helps, no matter how small. If you can’t donate you can still help by sharing this page with friends and fellow climbers. Above all we need to show our support as a community.
