Support the Oklahoma 8: Help These Kittens Heal
Donation protected
On Sep 6th 2024, I went to a Coheed and Cambria concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
At 2 AM as I was packing my car up with my buddy Tyson to leave the next morning back to Denver, 2 small kittens (8 weeks max) came up to us, they were clearly hungry and in need of some help, I drove to the nearest gas station in hopes of getting a couple cans of cat food or tuna.
When I got back with food, there were three, the newest looking the worst with bones protruding, eye almost shut from infection.
As they ate their food, they kept bumping my leg and started trying to guide me and Tyson to a milk crate with five more smaller kittens.
At that moment, I realized this ragtag group of misfits were from 3-4 different litters, ages ranging 3-8 weeks, without a mom or dad, and working together to survive with zero resources… I HAD TO HELP!
Knowing they’d be hiding by morning I knew I’d have to get them loaded in the car and on the road immediately.
10 hours of driving later…with windows down (8 kittens after their biggest meal ever in their first moving vehicle…ooof) we were back home in Colorado.
we quarantined them in our guest bathroom as we already have cats at home, and got them cleaned up.
Two immediately had to go to the vet for eye issues and upper respiratory infections and that 3rd little fella had worms too.
Since then we’ve been paying to get them all checked out and treated so we can foster them to good health, vaccinated, and to proper age for adoption.
But we are facing some challenges, at least 3 require major to minor eye repair from attack wounds.
This sadly is likely why their parents weren’t around, they were attacked and the parents took the fight away from the litters in hopes of saving them.
We’re dedicated to making sure this story ends well for this gang we call the “Oklahoma 8”
SEP 18TH
BIG SHOUTOUT!!! to Foxtail Pines Veterinary Hospital for helping this whole crew get checked out, vaccinated, and getting all the love and pets from staff so they can get healthy and find a perfect home!
We’re fostering them til they are in good health and proper age for adoption, paired with whom they’ve bonded with (they’ve dealt with enough loss), and aren’t an initial financial burden to anyone… once we achieve that goal, we will reach out to those who have asked to adopt and make sure it’s a perfect fit.
This is all in thanks to food donations from clients, friends, family, empathetic strangers… and a special thanks to my incredibly selfless wife Danielle Argote-Stone for working with them non-stop since I brought them home.
A full hearted thank you to everyone for the advisement, support, and donations thus far.
Drew this up to honor the lil heroes that brought me to their gang and asked for help… they’ll be permanent residents with us as they deserve a true heroes’ life of gratitude and love….
Cheers to Good Apollo and Dear Ambellina for being little heroes and the rest of the “Oklahoma Eight” that worked together for a brighter future….

PS if you’re not familiar with the band Coheed and Cambria, I found these kittens after their show in Tulsa, and you should know that their members, crew, and fan base helped us with supplies from the start… much love and respect to them!

All cats are at good weight, looking healthy but 3 cats need to see optometrist for eye issues, We are racking up on bills so we could use any support you can give.
SEP 27
We took one to the ER vet as eye swelling seemed life threatening.
As of now costs on our end are nearing $2000+ and will likely increase soon, we will commit to seeing this through but would be grateful for any donation or assistance available.
ANY FUNDS NOT USED WILL BE DONATED TO LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTERS
(and we’ll post receipts of EVERYTHING including what’s been done already)
Thank you
