Hi neighbors, animal lovers, and friends of OHS!
We all know that shelter life can be stressful for a dog. While the staff and volunteers at OHS Salem do an incredible job giving cuddles and walks, some of the residents need a little something extra.
You know the dogs we're talking about. The "smart cookies." The high-energy athletes. The ones with the wiggles that just won't quit. We have a mission: To channel that energy into confidence.
The goal of this campaign is to purchase additional equipment for the Training and Behavior Department at OHS Salem Campus.
Why an A-Frame?
It might look like just a piece of playground equipment, but for a shelter dog, it is a game-changer. Here is why this specific equipment matters:
- Mental Health: Physical exercise isn't always enough. Agility forces a dog to think, focus, and problem-solve, which reduces kennel stress and anxiety.
- Confidence Building: Mastering the climb over the A-Frame does wonders for a shy or insecure dog. It teaches them they can overcome obstacles (literally!).
- Adoptability: A bored dog can sometimes be a "naughty" dog. By burning off mental and physical energy on the agility course, our dogs present better to potential adopters. They are calmer, happier, and ready to show off their new tricks!
Where Your Donation Goes
Professional agility equipment needs to be durable, weather-proof, and safe for paws of all sizes.
- Goal: $1800
- Usage: Purchasing an A-Frame, shipping costs, and installation
Any funds raised over our goal will go directly towards purchasing additional agility equipment for the Training and Behavior Department at OHS Salem.
