Support The Offor’s Journey: Contribute To Paul’s Treatment

In the spring of this year, our lives were altered when Paul was diagnosed with stage 2 prostate cancer. This diagnosis led to a summer filled with tests and consultations with various doctors. Thankfully, the two tumours are 95% slow-growing and confined to the prostate, providing us time and treatment options.

We initially looked at two main treatments: prostate removal, which involves a lengthy recovery and significant side effects, and radiation therapy, which also has many side effects and risks. During a recent consultation, we learned about a promising alternative called Focal Therapy, otherwise known as the Nanoknife System.

The Nanoknife system uses electrical pulses to target and destroy the cancer cells without damaging nearby structures. It has a high success rate and a quick recovery time, with minimal side effects.

Our family is hopeful about this treatment option, which is scheduled for the end of September. However, it’s not covered by OHIP or private insurance, and the cost is $25,600.
