I'm reaching out on behalf of the Novakovski.

Dean is truly one in a million. This man has beaten the odds, year after year. Milestone after milestone. He is the man who was dealt an unfortunate hand and turned it into a royal flush. However his luck has not quite been on his side lately.

Dean, born in January of 1968, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at a young age, following the diagnosis and then passing of his sister from the same disease.

Even after a life altering diagnosis, he always remained positive. Until the miracle moment when he received the call he was always hoping he'd receive.

Jan 7 of 1997, Dean received a successful double lung transplant. He finally got to experience life in full color.

Fast forward to almost 30 years later, life looks a little different for our role model. 30 years of diabetes, digestive issues, anti rejection medications, and various other complications, have taken their toll. In recent months Dean has endured infections, signs of rejection and most recently diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of lymphoma. He had to undergo an emergency operation to remove two full intestinal blockages and upon returning to the ICU, he was informed all could not be removed. He now is attempting to heal from that operation to just undergo chemotherapy, while attempting to battle an aggressive lung infection, kidney disease, and manipulating his anti rejection medications.

He is no longer working due to his medical condition and his wife has chosen to go on leave to do her best to support him during this difficult time.

One thing that is never discussed is the immense debt that cancer patients and their families face. Our healthcare system only covers a fraction of the cost, the medications are very expensive even with coverage. Plus, fuel to appointments, loss of wage, and everyday expenses continuing to building up.

We understand that this time of year is already tough on families, however we are hoping the spirit of giving inspires you to help this family in need.

Dean has done so much for his family over the years and if anyone deserves a little Christmas giving spirit, it's him.

We appreciate any amount big or small, as all funds will go directly to the family to help cover medical and day to day costs.
