Hello film community,
We are excited to announce, "The Nightmare Catchers", a horror short that follows a documentary crew covering supernatural events around the world, but their fate might change when they investigate an abandoned movie studio that is said to be haunted.

Our project is fully cast and crewed up, around 30 people, giving an opportunity to local talent to showcase their skills. Our crew consists of established professionals and film students from both UNM and CNM. This is a great opportunity for beginners to gain on-set experience, network with fellow filmmakers, and build their materials for future work. This is also a great opportunity for established filmmakers to network with new people, building their connections, and making a stronger local film community.
The budget will be used to cover catering and crafty costs, including accommodating everyone's dietary requirements. It will also be used to buy props, costumes, hair and make-up products, equipment rentals and any post-production costs.
We are planning on filming this project on 8/31, 9/1 and 9/2, we will start post-production as soon as we wrap.
Meet Mya:

Hi! I’m Mya Lynn Twyeffort, an actress, writer, and model. I collaborated with J Diego Gonçalves on creating this short about greed in the industry taken from inspiration based on experiences that happened in my real life.
It started off as a short for my friends. I wanted lots of parts for people who were starting out and in similar situations as me trying to build their resume. I came on strictly as a writer until Diego convinced me I had to play the lead character—Hazel Bennett. I hope to portray the role with authenticity and relate to many people in the industry who have been in similar situations.
Meet J Diego:

This project will be directed and produced by J Diego Gonçalves. He is a Brazilian Actor and Filmmaker, has lived in Albuquerque for 2 years, and has been an active member in the local film community. He recently directed "Leave This Town," a 48hr ABQ Film Challenge short that earned 9 nominations, and 3 wins, including winning Best Set Design, Best Ensemble, and Best Poster.

This short film is important because it will give opportunity to emerging filmmakers to make something that they can use on their reels, resumes, and potentially get more paid opportunities from this project. We plan on submitting the finished short film to film festivals and use it gain sponsorships and fundraising for future projects. This is the first film by Tropical Desert Productions and hopefully, with your support, many more!!!
Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Mya Lynn Twyeffort, J Diego Gonçalves and The Cast/Crew of “The Nightmare Catchers”
