Hello everyone, my name is Kiely. The Neurodiversity Movement is the reason I am starting this fundraiser.
Neurodiversity is about realizing that conditions like autism, ADHD, and dyslexia are valuable and natural variants of the human brain rather than "problems" that need to be corrected. I want to contribute to the creation of an environment where kids with diverse learning styles are given the opportunity to lead and feel like they belong.
For more than 25 years, the Neurodiversity Alliance, formerly called Eye to Eye, has been at the forefront of this effort. Founded by and for students who study differently, they are the biggest nonprofit organization in the country. Their work has a huge impact because they concentrate on:
- The Power of Community: They manage a nationwide network of more than 1,000 student-run clubs in institutions and high schools, offering neurodivergent students safe places to interact.
- Mentorship & Leadership: They offer scholarships and "near-peer" coaching to help kids with learning disabilities get the self-assurance they need to thrive in an educational system that is not necessarily made for them.
- National Advocacy: To guarantee that neurodiverse views are heard, they strive to modify school regulations and offer instructors professional development.
In order to support this group in continuing to offer these free programs, applications, and toolkits to kids nationwide, I am trying to raise $100.
By working together, we can make sure that every kid has the resources and support they require to succeed. I sincerely appreciate any support you may provide for this worthy cause.
