Our close friends, the Nelson family, are facing a sudden and overwhelming medical crisis right before Christmas.

What began as a routine surgery for Chris quickly turned serious. Severe pain led to a hospital readmission, where doctors discovered blood clots. After nearly a week in Texarkana, he had to be transferred to Dallas in critical condition and has already undergone another major surgery — with the possibility of more ahead.

His wife has been with him nonstop. She has missed weeks of work, all while trying to keep things steady for their blended family of four children.

This unexpected medical emergency has created a heavy financial strain — travel costs, lost wages, medical bills, and the added heartbreak of not being able to give their kids the Christmas they hoped for.
