Support the Nelson family and Jacobs recovery journey

As the Nelson family navigates the recent tragedy involving their son and brother, Jacob, we are creating a Go Fund Me account in an effort to support them. We would like to give the opportunity for Jacobs friends, family, and community to support his needs in the short term and long term care. As the days become weeks and months, Jacob’s needs will be extensive to say the least.
Jacob suffered a severe Traumatic Brain Injury from a horrific car accident on September 1st, 2024 while coming home from an afternoon with his buds. This accident was devastating to the community as a whole. Jacob’s primary and most severe injury was to his brain. The injury impacted multiple areas of his brain with an initial concerning prognosis for his survivable future. After an emergency Craniectomy on September 9th to relieve increasing pressures, he has slowly started to turn some corners. He is now breathing on his own with only oxygen. While he is awake with open eyes, he is making slow progress. Every day and every week we pray for small steps toward recovery.
The future plans and needs required for the family to care for Jacob, while trying to understand his capabilities will be extensive. Please join us in praying for their strength as they work through this period of life.
