On Sunday, September 21, 2025, our friend Brian Neie and his 11-year-old son Bryson were involved in a tragic boating accident due to a malfunction with the boat steering column at Temple Lake Park in Belton, Texas.

Bryson sustained injuries on his left rib cage, along with severe injuries to his left arm and wrist. Brian’s injuries were catastrophic.

Bryson was taken into emergency surgery to save his arm and hand. However, Brian’s injuries from the propeller were more than his body could take, and we lost him at the hospital later that night.

To date, Bryson has required multiple surgeries to repair his arm and wrist. He remains in the hospital at this time with at least 1-2 more surgeries to go before he can possibly be discharged. Once discharged, he will have further surgeries as his growth plates were impacted. He has a long road ahead to recovery.

Brian’s wife, Annette, has been at the hospital with Bryson since the accident. Their sweet 7-year-old daughter Ashlyn is staying with her grandparents at this time.
