Many folks who know me know that my dad and grandfather were firefighters. On his off days, my dad also was a trucker as well.
If you haven't lived with a firefighter, it's difficult to grasp the toll the work takes on a person. I remember when my brothers and I were teenagers and just learning to drive, hearing my dad and his friend from the fire station work out a system where they would alert each other if they happened on a scene of an accident that involved a car from their children. That conversation really stuck with me about the invisible weight that my dad's job took on him.
This giving season, I'm raising funds for the National First Responders Fund which supports first responders and their mental health needs.
Your generous donations will directly support the vital work of the NFRF, helping to ensure that First Responders receive the care and training they need. Here’s how your contribution can make a difference:
- Funding specialized training programs aimed at preventing and addressing PTSI among First Responders.
- Providing financial resources for mental health support and recovery initiatives.
Join me in making a tangible impact. Every dollar counts and brings us one step closer to supporting those who serve our communities. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
