Hi, our names are Cassie and Marcia and we are fundraising to help our friends Anna and Amy Nati.
Anna and Amy moved to Tasmania in 2020 to start an animal sanctuary together, a lifelong dream for them both. Unfortunately, due to Amy being diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and her illness worsening they were unable to bring this dream to fruition. They then decided to move to Launceston from Lake Leake to renovate and create a comfortable and enjoyable home for them both to spend their time in together.
On March the 22nd an incredibly sad and unfortunate event took place where a truck driver had a medical episode and passed away after accidentally driving into Anna and Amy’s home. There was a large amount of damage caused and since the accident, Anna and Amy have not been able to live in their home and at this stage the repairs are still not underway, with no certainty on when they will start. This is an incredibly stressful and upsetting time for them both as they already have a lot on their plates living with Amy’s illness and just want to spend their days together happily and comfortably.
Just over a week ago now, they received another blow when their house was broken into, and a lot of Amy’s sentimental belongings were taken which at this stage have not been recovered.
This along with the stresses of finding accommodation as they have been living in three separate places in three weeks, finally finding more long-term accommodation but having to come up with a bond of $2000 and having to buy some home appliances and house contents for their temporary accommodation has caused even more undue stress on the family. Sadly, they also lost one of their beloved cats in the accident and have had to relocate some of their animals.
Hopefully in the future insurance can assist with some of these costs, but right now any amount will help with the out-of-pocket expenses of this accident and any costs moving forward through this incredibly difficult time and with Amy’s battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
