Areli is organizing this fundraiser to support the family of Patou Mpinda, who tragically lost his life on Monday, September 14, 2026, in a workplace accident at Smithfield in Monmouth, Illinois. Patou had just recently returned to work after suffering a stroke. He was a devoted husband and loving father who worked hard to provide for his family. His sudden passing has left his wife, Boliaka, who is pregnant and expecting their baby in November, to care for their four young children, ages 10, 4, 2, and 1. Along with the unimaginable pain of losing her husband, Boliaka must now find the strength to care for her children and prepare for the arrival of their baby.

Donations will help the family with funeral expenses, groceries, household bills, the children’s needs, and other essential everyday expenses. This support will be especially important in the weeks and months ahead as Boliaka grieves, adjusts to life without Patou, and continues caring for four young children while preparing to welcome a new baby.
