Please consider donating to the Labor & Delivery and Postpartum Float Nurses at Mount Sinai.
On January 12th, over 16,000 NYSNA nurses across New York City went on strike to do what we have always done: advocate for our patients. We are the Labor & Delivery and Postpartum OB Float Pool Nurses at Mount Sinai, a dedicated group of nurses who step into the most understaffed units every shift to ensure safe, compassionate care for birthing people and their families.
We are striking for safe staffing ratios with real enforcement, safe working conditions, security measures within the hospital, the continuation of our healthcare benefits, and fair wages. These protections are essential to keeping patients safe and nurses at the bedside.
We want you to know this: we are not just labor, we are people.
We are nurses with years of experience, advanced degrees, and specialized training. We are mothers, daughters, sisters, and caregivers. When we walk into work, we don’t just see sick newborns, exhausted birthing people, or aging parents—we see extensions of our own families. That is why we cannot remain silent when care is compromised.
Every protection nurses and patients have today exists because someone before us fought for it. We are fighting for you now for safe care, dignity, and the future of healthcare, and we ask for your support to continue this fight.
Your donation will help provide financial support to our nurses while we remain on strike without pay, allowing us to stay strong, unified, and focused on winning a contract that prioritizes patient safety and nurse wellbeing. Any contributions will be distributed equally among our nurses to help support our families during this critical and historic moment.
We are committed to winning a contract that benefits not only our patients and families here in NYC, but nurses and patients across the country.
Thank you wholeheartedly for any contribution; any amount helps. Please consider sharing this page with friends and family.
We cannot wait to return to the bedside and do what we love most: take care of our patients.
