In February 2020, Dr. Orhan Morina was diagnosed with metastatic cholangiocarcinoma, a very aggressive form of cancer. He battled the disease for almost two years. With a heavy heart, we announce that on January 10th, 2022, we lost our loved one, father, and husband at the age of 56 in Lutherville, Maryland.
After surviving the Kosovo War, Orhan dedicated his life to public service, working in the public health sector for 25 years. A selfless humanitarian, and a hard-working colleague, Orhan and his work left a mark on thousands of people throughout Kosovo, the Balkans, and across Africa. He worked with passion and showed utmost compassion for the communities that he served, always prioritizing their needs.
Forever proud of his Albanian roots, he created a new life for himself, his wife, and three daughters, making the US his new home far away from home. He was an inspiration to many, especially us, the Morina girls.
He taught us to savor the little things in life: to enjoy our morning coffee and meals together, work hard and prioritize our education, and always give to others whenever we can.
With your generosity, we would like to create a community of support at this difficult time and ease the financial burden created by the remaining medical bills. We would really appreciate your support through this fundraiser. Please feel free to share our story through this link with your family and friends as our community grows.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love you have shown so far.
