Hello! My name is Gregory Moore and I am raising money for an incredible opportunity! I have been selected to perform an LGBTQ+ focused program for 2 regional conferences for the International Tuba Euphonium Association from Wednesday Mar. 18-Sunday Mar. 22 as well as a full recital at SUNY Fredonia this spring!
I am incredibly honored and thrilled to bring this recital to life especially in a time where LGBTQ people are being erased from history and pushed out of the country.
This performance is music about nature paired with my stories growing up as a closeted kid and how the national parks helped with my identity. It explores past traumas and has helped me grow as a person and musician as I have been writing and practicing the music.
In order to perform, I need to travel to these conferences and that is going to prove expensive. While my husband and I will be able to cover a portion it will still be expensive to book hotels, flights, conference registrations and so on.
I have totaled the cost, and it is looking like I will need to spend around $2,000 in order to be able to attend both conferences.
Any money you can give will help support a queer artist to get back into the music industry and give a voice to those that don't have one.
This project is my effort to bring queer stories to life and to bring them to people and places that need them the most in this country, especially in the climate we are currently in. Both my parents and brother are LGBTQ activists and I want to find my own way to be an activist and I think this is it, so your donations will go a long way!!
