Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers, We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your help during a devastating time for the Mills family. Recently, Steve Mills — a loving husband, devoted father, and the sole provider for his family — suffered a traumatic accident that resulted in significant brain damage. He underwent emergency brain surgery and is now in a medically induced coma, on a ventilator (see photo below). Doctors expect he will remain in this condition for at least a couple of weeks. The extent of the brain damage and his chances for recovery won’t be known until he’s brought out of the coma. Steve’s wife, Faith, and their three children — Hudson, Harlow, and Haven — are now facing an unthinkable road ahead. To make matters even more heartbreaking, this tragedy comes on the heels of another major loss: Faith’s mother passed away just a few weeks ago and she buried her the day after Steve's injury.

Now, Faith is trying to hold her family together, care for her grieving father, be present for her three children, and spend every possible moment by Steve’s side — under this cloud of fear with no income or insurance.

Steve worked in the hospitality industry and, like so many others, the family fell on hard times during COVID and the aftermath of the pandemic lockdowns. Their health insurance lapsed recently, and there is no income coming in during this critical time. We are asking for your support to help relieve some of the unimaginable pressure they are under.

Funds raised will go toward:

• Reinstating health insurance for the entire family

• Covering hospital stays, medical bills, and future care for Steve

• Daily essentials — gas, groceries, utilities, and other basic needs

• Providing financial stability for Faith and the children while they navigate this crisis
