Help the Millican Family Recover After Tragic House Fire

Early Sunday morning, tragedy struck the Millican family when a devastating house fire swept through their home in Chickamauga, Georgia.

John Millican III, a beloved teacher and coach at LaFayette High School, tragically lost his life after being trapped inside the home. His wife, Heather Millican, a dedicated social studies teacher at LaFayette Middle School, and their two young sons, Noah (8) and Elijah (3), suffered serious burn injuries and are currently receiving treatment at Vanderbilt Burn Center in Nashville.

The Millicans are deeply woven into the Walker County school community; both John and Heather have touched countless lives through their work as educators and mentors. Their dedication to their students, schools, and neighbors has made them pillars of compassion and service in LaFayette and Chickamauga.

Now, the community has an opportunity to give back.

Even if insurance eventually covers portions of their loss, the financial and emotional toll of rebuilding their lives will be immense. The family has lost not only their home and possessions but also their husband and father. Heather, Noah, and Elijah face a long road of medical treatment and rehabilitation, followed by the challenge of starting over while grieving an unimaginable loss.

Funds raised here will go toward:

* Medical expenses and travel costs for ongoing burn treatment and recovery
* Rebuilding their home and replacing essential belongings lost in the fire
* Supporting Heather, Noah, and Elijah as they adjust to life without their husband and father

Your donation — no matter the size — will make a difference in helping this family begin to heal and rebuild after an unthinkable tragedy. Please consider donating and sharing this page to help spread the word while the community rallies behind the Millicans.

The initial goal of $150,000 reflects the enormous costs the Millican family now faces from medical treatment and rehabilitation at Vanderbilt Burn Center to rebuilding their home and covering living expenses while they recover. Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket costs of healing, replacing essentials, and adjusting to life after this tragedy will be immense. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps lighten that burden and brings Heather, Noah, and Elijah one step closer to stability and healing.
