Melissa is a dear friend and truly an inspiration to all the residents and doctors who have worked with her in Dothan, Alabama. It breaks our heart to watch her and her family go through this unexpected and tragic event. Her father was life-flighted from his home to the trauma center after falling through the roof while independently and courageously working on a repair. His recovery is showing minor improvements after suffering a traumatic brain injury, and his long-term physical prognosis is unable to be determined at this time -- significant rehabilitation is likely required.
