My name is Ellen Lubensky, and I am an attorney and mental health advocate launching The Mental Health Choice Project, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting informed consent, patient choice, and compassionate support in mental health care.
After years navigating the mental health system as both an attorney and a patient, I became passionate about helping others better understand their options and encouraging respectful conversations about mental health. Everyone deserves clear information about the potential benefits, risks, and alternatives of treatment so they can make informed decisions alongside their healthcare providers.
I am personally covering the startup costs of establishing the nonprofit from a birthday gift. Every dollar donated through this campaign will go directly toward advancing the organization’s charitable mission, including developing educational resources, community outreach, public awareness initiatives, website and educational materials, and future programming that empowers individuals and families to make informed decisions about mental health care.
Your support will help us build a trusted resource that promotes transparency, dignity, and informed choice. Whether you are able to donate or simply share this campaign, thank you for helping us create a future where every person feels empowered to ask questions and every voice is heard.
