At a time in history when most of the world seemed against the success of a young Black man, Cleveland “Deacon” Harp was many things: a graduate of Crispus Attucks, one of the first Harlem Globetrotters, the “Clown Prince” of basketball, and more.
He was a father, a grandfather, a cancer survivor, and an endlessly patient and kind man with a heart for service. In the last 20 years of his life, he continued his service in entertainment as an usher for the Pacers until 2020.
After 87 lively years, several of which were spent battling cancer, the Lord has called His son Cleveland home in Jesus name. His family would really love your support in honoring his memory in a respectful way, as these last several years have been very tough financially on Cleveland.
We are profoundly grateful for whatever contibutions you are moved to make. Any funds donated would be used toward our father and grandfather’s memorial service, and whatever is left will be donated in his name to Crispus Attucks High School.
